Over on TikTok, I often receive the following types of comments on my videos:
I typically don't respond because I shouldn't have to explain to people how social media works.
While this is a tweet from Instagram, most social media feeds are relatively straightforward. For example, in a 2020 press release, TikTok shared exactly how the #ForYou feed is calibrated and personalised to each account.
So, when you comment on my videos or posts complaining about them...
... you're not only engaging with my content, which means I get a boost (thanks for that), you're also telling the social media algorithm that you want to see more of this kind of content.
It's 2024, is this really that difficult for people to understand?
If you really don't want to see the content I create, simply scroll past it without engaging. If you are seeing my content, it is probably because the social media algorithm has picked up on your interest in male sexuality.
The algorithm sees you.
